Visions of the Golden Age 1940 style dance Workshop
Learn a graceful dance inspired by the fabulous Egyptian films of the 1940s. At the end of the workshop, explore adding sagat to the dance. Bring sagat (zills) if you have them- no sagat playing experience necessary! (Some spares will be available). Beginner/Improver level.
Gwen Booth specializes in Egyptian and theatrical fusion bellydance, and in the use of props including sword, stick, veils, fans and shamadan. She is known for her elegant, inventive and dramatic choreography and performance. Teaching and performing for over a decade, and qualified as a bellydance teacher with JWAAD, Gwen trains bellydance teachers on the JWAAD Foundation and Diploma Courses. She has performed in many productions including Fantasia, the Jewels of the Nile, Hipsinc Grand Hafla, International Bellydance Congress and the BellyFusions Festival in Paris, and also performs with the Johara Dance Company.
